The OVS Soft Shackle is built from Dyneema synthetic fiber — a low-friction material so dense that an equivalent wire rope would need to be three times as thick to match it. At 5/8 inch diameter and 23 inches overall length, this shackle carries a breaking strength of 41,000 lbs. and a working load of 15,000 lbs. The abrasive protective sleeve is included, guarding the rope body during ground contact and rough recovery conditions.

Where a traditional 3/4-inch pin stainless steel shackle falls short of half this breaking strength, the OVS shackle clears both static and kinetic pulls with room to spare. Because Dyneema doesn't store kinetic energy under load the way steel does, there's no dangerous snap-back if the connection lets go — a real safety advantage when rigging winch lines or tow straps.
