Product Description
The Factor 55 Loop Guard is a winch rope end protector built from 6061 billet aluminum with a Mil-Spec hard gray anodized finish. It shields steel cable or synthetic rope eyes and loops — up to 7/16" diameter — from impact, abrasion, and UV degradation. A quick-release zinc-plated pin gives you fast loop access when you need to rig up, and the integrated rubber guard cushions the fairlead surface so you're not grinding metal on metal every time the line is loaded.
We like this piece for the details Factor 55 put into it. When cinched against the fairlead, the guard maintains rope tension so the line stays seated and controlled rather than flopping around between pulls. The rubber guard also protects the fairlead finish — a small thing until you notice the wear marks on a bare unit.
Made in the USA under US Patent #9,388,025, this is a straightforward accessory that solves a real problem: rope loop and cable eye wear is cumulative, and a billet aluminum guard costs far less than a new synthetic line. Gray anodized finish keeps the look clean and the surface durable. If you run a winch and use synthetic rope or steel cable, this guard belongs on your rigging kit.
