LD TMON Clamshell Aluminum Hard Shell Roof Top Tent Overland Vehicle Systems

The Overland Vehicle Systems LD TMON is a clamshell hard shell roof top tent built for 2-person use. The black aluminum base and 600D ripstop poly-cotton body handle weather and repeated trail use without breaking down. Two gas-charged struts open and close the shell smoothly, and the 2-minute setup claim means you're sleeping — not wrestling with poles — when you reach camp.

We like the sleeping specs here: the 50.5 x 80 inch sleeping area gives two adults actual room, and the 2.25-inch high-density foam mattress keeps you off the hard shell floor. Closed dimensions are 50.5 x 84 x 7 inches, so the profile stays manageable on the road. Open, it extends to 46 inches of headroom. Total weight is 150 lbs, with a packaged weight of 178 lbs.

Inside storage is practical — an overhead internal compartment plus 4 side pockets keep gear off the mattress. Window screens use 120G fadeless glaze breathable material, which helps with airflow. Hardware throughout is military-grade stainless steel. The heavy-duty nylon pull-down strap and ballistic-grade handles round out a build that isn't cutting corners on the contact points.

The LD TMON ships with a 2-year limited warranty and cleans up with soap and water. Part number 18119935.
