Flat Splicer Splice On Winch Synthetic Shackle Mount Factor 55

The Factor 55 Flat Splicer is the first splice-on folding winch rope shackle mount thimble on the market. At just 1.75 inches thick, it folds flat against the fairlead to keep frontal protrusion to a minimum. It's CNC machined from 6000-series military-grade aluminum with a powdercoat finish, and integrated EPDM rubber pads protect the fairlead surface during storage and use.

The rope path is what sets this mount apart. The spliced rope exits through the center of the part and routes 90 degrees along the inner radius back toward the winch — groove side facing in. That orientation keeps the entire rope end shielded from UV exposure and abrasion when stowed. The machined rope passage handles synthetic rope diameters up to 1/2 inch and exceeds minimum bend radius requirements, so the full breaking strength of the line is preserved.

Shackle connection is equally versatile. The Flat Splicer accepts both the pin and bow sections of common 3/4-inch screw pin shackles, plus the pin ends of larger 7/8-inch shackles. Working Load Limit is determined by the rope diameter in use.

One important note: this is not a loop-and-pin product. Installation requires synthetic rope splicing — Factor 55 recommends either a locking Brummel Splice or Long Bury Splice. If you're already comfortable splicing rope, this mount is a cleaner, safer alternative to a standard winch hook. Engineered, tested, and made in the USA.
