40 Inch LED Light Bar S8 Series Baja Designs

The Baja Designs S8 is a 40-inch straight LED light bar built on a modular, slim-profile architecture — eight LEDs per 10-inch section across four sections. Output starts at 6,324 raw lumens per 10-inch section, and the spot beam pattern delivers focused, usable light rather than just raw numbers. High-performance reflectors back every LED, and a 5000K daylight color temperature keeps things natural during long runs.

We like the amber backlight feature. It gives the bar real versatility as a marker light and operates independently through a dedicated harness — sold separately. Use part 640122 for on/off with backlight mode switching, or 640115 for basic on/off control on bars from 10 to 30 inches. Plan for that purchase before install; no harness ships with the bar.

The S8's uService design is worth calling out: lenses and optics are field-replaceable, so a cracked lens doesn't write off the entire bar. MoistureBlock construction makes the housing waterproof and submersible. CopperDrive technology runs every LED at 100% current with no derating, which means output stays consistent. The Backlit Add-On (part 640177) is also available if you want to add that function after purchase.

This bar ships with a 30-day money-back guarantee and a limited lifetime warranty. If you're spec'ing a roof rack, bumper, or chase setup and need a proven 40-inch bar with a repairable design, the S8 is worth serious consideration.
